Untranslatable

A multilingual, online dictionary that tells you not just what something means, but who uses it, where, and how. Built with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and Tailwind CSS, it features advanced search and a collaborative editing system.
A Furbish Dictionary

An early 00's style website featuring a complete dictionary of the Furbish language, plus a thorough linguistic analysis. Built with static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, it includes interactive search and playful retro design elements.
Bauhaus Cookbook

A Bauhaus‑inspired cookbook of my dad’s recipes, designed with a focus on typography and layout. Built using Figma for design and exported to a static site with HTML and CSS. Features custom illustrations and a minimalist aesthetic.
Pigeons in my Apartment

A children's book about anxiety, written and illustrated for my boyfriend. The story explores coping with worries through whimsical illustrations and gentle humor. Created using Procreate for artwork and InDesign for layout.

How many languages do you speak?

Depends on the level of fluency you are asking. I speak and understand 5 languages with a high degree of fluency, and German and French only if I am alone with a native speaker who doesn't speak English — or if someone is holding a gun to my head.
Where is your name from?

Amarens is a Frisian name, from Fryslân, one of the northern provinces of the Netherlands.
How do you pronounce your name?

My name is pronounced [ɑmaː'rɛns], 'ama' like in 'mama', rolling r, emphasis on 'rens'. But really, anything is okay.
